Job description

For our client, the world's largest truck manufacturing plant within a global group located in Ghent, we are looking for a Technical Product Advisor. In this role, you are responsible for translating specific customer requirements into technically feasible solutions. You will work in an innovative environment where Lean Manufacturing is the standard and where quality, safety, and a passion for technology are central.

  • Investigate and answer technical customer inquiries regarding concepts that fall outside the standard product range

  • Analyze technical feasibility, cost, lead time, and legal compliance of customization requests

  • Advise various internal departments on technical product solutions to adapt standard trucks to specific customer demands

  • Make independent decisions and take final responsibility for the proposed technical concepts

  • Coordinate cooperation between involved parties such as design, order planning, suppliers, and sales engineers

  • Ensure efficient and timely production of the designed customer-specific modifications

  • Continuously keep your technical expertise and product knowledge within the automotive sector up to date

  • Act as the technical pivot within the team to provide the customer with the ideal truck solution

Requirements

  • You hold at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field

  • Additional economic knowledge or commercial insight is a strong added value

  • Technical knowledge of vehicles and/or experience in the automotive industry is a significant advantage

  • Excellent networking skills and the ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with a commercial mindset

  • You are a true team player who can also manage projects independently

  • Good knowledge of MS Office

  • Excellent command of English is a requirement; knowledge of other languages is a plus
