Job description

For our client, an international leader in high-tech machine building and coating technology, we are looking for a Software Quality & Testing Engineer with a strong affinity for customer support. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between software development and real-world application, ensuring the stability and reliability of a complex industrial software platform while actively scaling our support activities.

Software Support & Troubleshooting

  • Analyze, reproduce, and resolve incidents across test, staging, and production environments to minimize implementation risks for our clients

  • Investigate logs, error messages, and system behavior to identify root causes

  • Distinguish between software bugs, configuration issues, data discrepancies, and user inquiries

  • Maintain a prioritized list of improvement opportunities to focus the team on high-impact fixes

  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding status updates, explanations, and practical workarounds

  • Take full ownership of issues from the initial report through to resolution and validation

Quality Improvement, Testing & QA Tooling

  • Translate recurring or critical support cases into robust test cases and regression scenarios

  • Validate bug fixes and perform targeted regression and smoke tests

  • Contribute to automated tests for C#/.NET backend services and Angular frontend applications

  • Utilize various testing approaches, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and contract testing

  • Work with UI and E2E frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium

  • Support non-functional testing, including performance and reliability checks

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as a "reality check" from the customer's perspective in engineering and quality discussions

  • Contribute to improvements in logging, diagnostics, and overall product usability

  • Maintain and improve support processes, guidelines, and documentation for known issues

  • Participate in international deployments and commissioning projects (approximately 15% travel)

  • Participate in a standby rotation (1 week out of 3) for urgent out-of-hours support

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or software development

  • Strong knowledge of C#/.NET (backend) and experience with modern web applications (Angular is a plus)

  • Familiarity with test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and container environments (e.g., Kubernetes)

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex customer problems into testable scenarios

  • A clear communicator who is quality-driven, pragmatic, and comfortable in client-facing roles

  • Willingness to participate in a 1-in-3 standby rotation for urgent support

  • Readiness to travel internationally (approx. 15% of the time) for on-site commissioning

You have a perfect knowledge of English

Offer

  • A dynamic and international working environment focused on innovation and collaboration

  • A competitive salary package complemented by an attractive range of fringe benefits

  • A comprehensive training program and personal guidance through a mentorship track

  • A great work-life balance with 20 statutory holidays and 12 additional compensation (ADV) days per year

  • The opportunity to work with the latest software stacks in a young, visionary department

  • Fun extras such as after-work sports, drinks, summer BBQs, and holiday events

  • An easily accessible workplace located near the highway
