Job description

To strengthen our maintenance team, we are looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician – Buildings & HVAC.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of all installations and technical equipment on site. This is an operational hands-on position without managerial responsibilities, where you act as a technical reference person and coordinate external interventions, mainly related to HVAC installations.

Your responsibilities

Maintenance & Operations

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building installations.

  • Troubleshoot technical installations outside the production environment.

  • Ensure the safety, availability, and compliance of equipment.

  • Test and monitor legally required installations (sprinkler systems, periodic inspections, etc.).

  • Strictly apply QSHE and environmental procedures.

Technical Installations & HVAC

  • Carry out interventions on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

  • Diagnose and analyse technical malfunctions.

  • Monitor the performance of installations and maintenance interventions.

  • Act as the technical point of contact for building installations.

External Contractors Follow-up

  • Welcome external contractors and provide safety instructions.

  • Act as the operational contact person for suppliers.

  • Check that executed works comply with technical specifications.

  • Monitor the progress of interventions and report deviations.

  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of interventions and inspections.

Organisation & Continuous Improvement

  • Plan and monitor maintenance activities using internal tools.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and site optimisation initiatives.

  • Suggest technical and organisational improvements.

  • Provide occasional technical support to site teams when required.

Working Environment

  • Interventions across the entire site.

  • Use of measurement and diagnostic tools (multimeter, inspection equipment, etc.).

  • Personal protective equipment provided.

  • Use of specific equipment (cherry picker, forklift – certifications required).

  • Use of basic IT tools for maintenance tracking and reporting.

Requirements

Candidate profile

Education & Experience

  • Technical education in maintenance, electromechanics, building techniques, or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in building maintenance/facility management.

  • Strong hands-on experience with technical installations and HVAC systems.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of building installations.

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems.

  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings at an operational level.

  • Technical certifications (BA4/BA5, cherry picker, forklift) or willingness to obtain them.

Personal Skills

  • Strong hands-on mentality and sense of responsibility.

  • Independent, accurate, and well-organised.

  • Good communication skills with internal teams and external contractors.

  • Strong focus on safety and quality.

  • Knowledge of Dutch is not required. French-speaking and English-speaking candidates are also welcome to apply.
