How many hours am I allowed to work as a flexi-job worker?
Do you want to start as a flexi worker and are you wondering how many hours you are allowed to work? Good news: a flexi-job is very flexible. However, there are a few clear rules you need to keep in mind. Below you can read how many hours you can work and what this means for your flexi income.
Is there a maximum number of flexi-job hours?
There is no maximum number of hours per year that you are allowed to work as a flexi worker. This means you can earn extra income through a flexi-job without a fixed yearly limit.
However, you must always respect the legal working time limits. In practice, this means:
-
maximum 11 hours per day (including overtime)
-
maximum 50 hours per week (including overtime)
Please note: in some sectors, additional or different rules may apply. Always check which rules apply within your sector.
What about your flexi income?
Do you combine your main job with a flexi-job and are you not retired? Then you must take an income limit into account.
If you earn more than the allowed ceiling of €18,000 net, you will have to pay taxes on the amount above that limit.
People who are legally retired can earn unlimited extra income. Early retirees, however, must respect an income limit. We recommend that early retirees contact their pension service to know their personal income limit.
