Job Description
As part of the early childhood care structures of the European Commission, we are looking for several childcare assistants to provide temporary replacements for children aged 0 to 3 years.
Your responsibilities include:
- Welcoming and caring for a group of children in a relational and educational setting, in line with the crèche’s pedagogical project.
- Creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment that supports the well-being, autonomy and overall development of the children (motor skills, language, socialization, etc.).
- Providing individual attention to each child, especially during key moments (meals, personal care, toilet training).
- Maintaining respectful and collaborative communication with parents, supporting the integration and development of their child.
- Accompanying children during outings (educational trips, walks, etc.) while ensuring their safety.
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards, as well as ethical guidelines (confidentiality, discretion, respect for privacy).
- Working closely and flexibly with the educational team.
- Preparing bottles in accordance with strict hygiene and safety rules for collective childcare (if required).
- Using the dedicated mobile application to track attendance, authorisations, and other administrative data related to the children.

Requirements

Profile sought:
Degree and experience (at least one of the following conditions must be met):
- A higher education diploma in the field of childcare (e.g. bachelor’s degree in childcare, pediatric nursing, preschool education, etc.).
- OR a secondary education diploma in childcare that grants access to higher education + at least 3 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in a role related to early childhood care.
- OR a higher education diploma in another field + at least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- OR a secondary education diploma in another field + at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- OR completion of compulsory schooling + at least 8 years of relevant training and/or professional experience as a childcare assistant.
Other requirements:
- You must be able to provide a recent certificate of good conduct (clear criminal record).
- You have a good command of French and at least a basic knowledge of English.
